one thing that is undoubtedly eye catching to a person visiting the town for the first time is the captivating hilly and vegetation sceneries. Being a hilly town one can have a perfect scenic view of the town from key points e.g. Nyanchwa, Manga Hills. The most outstanding attraction in the region is the soapstone carvings in Tabaka center about 20kms from Kisii Town along the Kisii- Isebania highway. One can sample amazing designs and carvings from small carvings to king size carvings from the skilled artisans. The carvings can go for a paltry ksh 100(about $1) to Ksh10, 000 (app. $150).To purchase or order for soapstones.The town is an easy gateway town to some good attractions in the region. Ruma National Park in Lambwe, South Nyanza is about 3 hours drive from the town, Maasai Mara national Park is also accessible from the town via Kisii-Kilgoris road, Sirare border town Tanzania which is about 3 hours drive from the town, Kisumu Town Museum about 2 hours drive from the town.
